I’m taking a break from blogging

I need some more time to be still.

I need to get back some space.

I don’t know whether it is the fact I’ve just started a new job, that my study has ramped up, that I’m about to move house or if my mind is just winding down after a busy year but every part of my being is shouting that I need to pull back my commitments a bit. This means taking a break from blogging.

At this stage, I don’t know how long this break will last. It could be one week or one year. All I know is that I need to stop pushing myself to meet the expectations that I imagine (because that’s all that is going on here: I’m imagining things) other people have of me. It has taken me a few days to even build up the courage to write this because I was worried that I’d be judged but I have finally realised that the only one judging me is me. So, it’s time to stop. Judging, that is.

I write about (and wholly believe in) living your truth, and putting your health and wellbeing at the top of your list of priorities. Lately I feel like I have been burning the candle at both ends just to keep up with everything I think I should be doing. I can’t keep the pace and that’s OK.

I want to really get stuck into my studies so that I can learn how to be the best naturopath going ’round and, to do that, I need to create some bigger pockets of space in my life and in my to-do list. I need to live my words and spread the truth that’s it alright to say, “I need a break”.

I need a break.

Thank you, dear readers, for your support and understanding. I’ll be back!

So sad! I just found you! But I also totally get it… toats been there.. But so you know, you writing is great, engaging and laugh out loud good. I was all kinds of ” I love this chick”…so when you are ready to return…your fan club awaits. 🙂 So I look forward to when you launch your naturopathic carreer and your return to blogging occurs….but no pressure….take your time….when its right its right, I totally get it. I think we are all missing just ‘blogging’ without the business of it you know? Anyway… In the mean time, if you are looking for a like minded gal (who’s just moved to melbs) check out theveggiemamma.com ( though you probs have already e-met), you have simmilar writing style.
Anyway, best of luck with it all.

      Hi Phemie,

Thanks so much for your kind words! You have made my day.

I do miss blogging and have been thinking about returning to it with a reduced schedule of posting. I know exactly what you mean about the business of blogging! It does take some of the sparkle off it.

Thanks for the recommendation of theveggiemamma.com. I will definitely check her out!

Oh I LOVE making ppls days! and re the blogging, seriously… let it form in your mind and dont rush anything. You can still have a digital presence using instagram and twitter etc. You can still socially be ‘out there’ until your ready again (if at all)…and in fact it can be more organic this way. Just watch…learn…create a pinterest board of your ideas! Blogging has changed these days because the audience has changed. People dont ness want blog posts every day or every week…they cant keep up with everyone they follow! We always feel behind on our blogging reading..and then you have a day where its all to much and you find yourself unsubscribing from people… on a better day, you might not have you know? Why not try something like flavors.me (or similar version) if you want to have more of a portfolio website and keep traffic going to your url. The website attached to mine is a flavors me one. It works for me to just have all my ‘social’s in one place and to refer people to if they want basically know ‘who I am’…for work/online resume kind of stuff.
I used to blog a lot, I started when I was studying, but then I had to stop when I was doing my masters, and in general just ‘re-group’…And Im still not really ready yet…Im just chillin enjoying reading everyone else hard work, and letting the ideas come and go as they do….occasionally writing a post and storing it away for later (another option you could do). Ive got a wordpress one in the works, but at the moment, its a digital design hobby, and I think Id like to keep it that way for a while (the luxury of finally having time of a hobby is delicious!) and just keep enjoying getting to know everyone else out there 🙂
